We are currently looking to recruit for the following positions:

Chief Finance Officer

We are looking for a chief finance officer to help manage the financial affairs of the academy. The job role will include all aspects of financial planning, budgeting and funding applications. You will work with the accounting officer, overseeing them with the book keeping and tax returns. You will have a role on the board of governors and as a key member of the senior management team.

Candidates will have experience and knowledge of not-for-profit organisational procedures. You will have a proven track record in managing finance for organisations. You will also have experience in PAYE finance. You will preferably also have experience of financial management in the education sector; ideally within state funded 16 - 19 education or similar.

Your role will initially be on a part-time freelance basis, assisting the team in a DFE funding application which will secure your position on a full or significant part-time permanent contract basis once funding is established.

Accounting Officer

We are looking for an accounting officer to help manage the financial affairs of the academy. The job role will include managing the book keeping and tax returns for an educational establishment

Candidates will have experience and working knowledge of not-for-profit organisational structures and procedures. You will preferably also have experience of financial management in the education sector; specifically within state funded 16 - 19 education or similar.

Your role will be on a part-time freelance basis, initially assisting the team in a DFE funding application, and thereafter assisting the chief financial officer with the organisations accounting.

Future Teaching Roles

We will also shortly be recruiting for experienced tutors in areas relating to Ecological Design and Land Based Learning.

Company Secretary

We are looking for someone with good understanding and experience of not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee, preferably within an educational context. Your role will initially focus on ensuring a robust and appropriate governance structure for the academy. Your role will initially be on a part-time freelance basis, with a relatively small time commitment, but with potential for this role to expand to one of administrative assistance with more substantial hours once the DFE funding application is successful.

Board of Governors

The role will include assisting the board in the strategic and corporate governance of the academy. You will be a vital source of support for the board and the Principal in managing the educational strategies and governmental requirements of the academy

You will provide vital and experienced feedback and advice on the vision, ethos, & curricula of the academy. You will also help build strategies for meeting the needs of the pupils, managing behaviour, attendance and evaluating pupil performance. You will also help in developing a staffing structure that will deliver the curriculum plans within the budget available. You will help protect the educational and corporate priorities of the academy in the context of the educational partnerships and industry based collaborative initiatives with which the academy will work. 

Some knowledge and understanding of ecological design thinking, sustainability and wholistic educational approaches is also highly desirable.
